St George's Day or Shakespeare's Birthday? Who do you celebrate? Let's be greedy and celebrate both! I happen to love a dragon, I mean who doesn't? What's to like about England? Where do I start? ~ Green, rolling hills ~ You're never far from the sea ~ Cream Teas / Afternoon tea ~Beautiful towns and cities like Rochester, Canterbury, York, Liverpool, Exeter and many, many more ~ London, an extraordinary capitol city full of history, greenery, art & culture. It also has some of the rudest commuters I know, but you can't have it all. ~ "Trains, we have lots of trains," Georgie aged 13, obsessed with trains, wants to be a train driver, (obviously not yet a commuter, but likes to get from A to B

Kent Festival of Writing

A gorgeous Spring day, blue sky, sun was shining, seagulls squawking overhead. Where better to be than Whitstable in Kent for a writing festival? It was the opportunity to mingle with other writers, and what an enthusiastic, friendly group of people you were! The morning was filled with workshops, and in the afternoon an opportunity to listen to Kate Mayfield, writer. There was plenty of tea and coffee, and not to mention the odd biscuit! One of the workshops, lead by Marnie Summerfield Smith, was a form of Japanese literature: Zuihitsu, meaning to follow the brush, or pen. "A stream of consciousness vignette."
